JAKARTA, September 14 -- China Huadian Power (CHD) president He Gong met with Indonesian vice president Jusuf Kalla today at the vice president's official residence in Jakarta.

Gong expressed his thanks to the vice president for his strong support of CHD's development in Indonesia, and briefed him on the progress of CHD's particiaption in the Asahan No. 1 Hydropower Station, a 4x600MW mine-mouth power plant in South Sumatra and with CHD's interest in Indonesian utility PLN's plans for oil-to-coal projects.

Vice president Kalla thanked the company for its support and participation in the Indonesian power sector. He said he hoped Chinese enterprises could render even stronger support for Indonesia's power construction boom, as, he said, Chinese enterprises are ahead of enterprises of other countries. He said he hoped CHD would win the bidding for PLN's oil-to-coal projects.
